Gig log: Wedding DJ Services – Debbie & Leigh – Domaine Brahms Winery, Paarl – Evergreen Music

Debbie and Leigh started planning their wedding more then 6 month ago already, and booked our wedding dj and decorative lighting service for their wedding. These lovely ladies decided to tie the knot at what must be one of the Cape Winelands most beautiful venue’s for a wedding, Domaine Brahms in Paarl. Everywhere you turn, there is something beautiful to look at. its most certainly must be one of the wedding photographers favorite sites. We were again hired not only to do our wedding dj thing, but to supply a microphone to the preacher at the ceremony, but to also supply background music during the cocktail hour. African drummers were used for entrance and exit music at the very emotional ceremony.

While the brides were off having their photo’s taken with their brides maids and family, we played some soft rock as background music at the cocktail area. Once everybody returned from photo’s, the guests were allowed to enter the reception area. It was a bit of a windy day, so all the guests were only to happy to enter the warm reception hall. Tasteful white draping decorated all the walls with fairy lights adding some sparkle. The dj booth was stationed in an adjoining room to the reception hall with a huge dance floor. We used 6 LED mega bar lights as mood lighting. We set the lights to light purple to compliment the main colour scheme, and everybody complimented us on a lovely looking setup and lighting.

 

What a fun wedding to dj at. From the minute the dance floor opened, most the guests danced. The only time they stopped was of course for the cake cutting, and briefly to eat desert. We soon had everyone back where they belonged, and before you could say Wedding DJ, the night was over already. Its always the fun ones that fly by so quickly. To help make the entertainments such a success, we used the information from our wedding reception planner that we supplied to Debbie and Leigh before the wedding, to select all their favorite songs, and music to play in the course of the event. Who better to know what music their friends and family would enjoy then the brides themselves.  The reception planner also contains all the other vital information needed for the reception like all the toastmasters, a time schedule and agenda.
